About Jabs Construction

Some companies are built on ambition. Jabs Construction was built on sawdust, family, and a stubborn commitment to doing the work right. For over 45 years, we have been remodeling homes across Northern Virginia. And for four generations, craftsmanship has been the only standard we’ve known.

As a fourth-generation family business with a registered architect on staff, master carpenters, and experienced project managers, we bring an uncommon level of care and craftsmanship to every bathroom project, no matter the size.

Our Story

The Jabs family story begins in Germany, with Albert Jabs, a carpenter who hand-built cabinets, doors, windows, and millwork and installed much of what he made. His son Waldemar carried on that tradition, owning and operating a general building construction company in Connecticut

In 1978, after 22 years with the U.S. Marine Corps, Walter “Wally” Jabs followed in his father’s footsteps and started a home improvement company in Northern Virginia. With Wally as the carpenter and his wife Madeleine running the office, Wally’s Workshop was born. Years of hard work, dedication to quality, and a personal approach with clients allowed the company to grow steadily.

In 1985, the family formalized the business as Jabs and Sons Construction, Inc., adding architectural design services and continuing to expand their client base. By 1995, Jabs Construction, Inc. was established as a genuine full-service design/build residential remodeling company — the model that defines how we work to this day.

Today, Chris and Tim Jabs lead the company their parents built, alongside the next generation of the Jabs family. The faces have changed and the team has grown, but the commitment that started with a German carpenter four generations ago is unchanged.
